Is it fine to dream?

I’ll be finishing my study in broadcasting by May 2008. That’s makes me think of the option that I have after graduation. Before this, I never thought about this thing seriously. When people asked me what I want to do after getting my degree, I just said I want to seek for a job. Never once in mind that I want to further my study to the higher level like taking master etc.

But recently, (maybe I don’t realize a thunder struck me or so whatever) my heart told me that I really want to continue my study. I dream to continue my study in the U.K (London to be specific). I don’t know why I choose London (or maybe I know!) but it’s seems like an interesting place to study!

So I check out the Malaysia’s British Council website to find the universities available that may have the course that will interest me. I asked myself, what course would I like to take to continue my study? Erm….. Should I go for broadcasting (again?!), scriptwriting (maybe!), creative writing (sounds cool!) or maybe photography? Aargh! Too many option!!

I just randomly check the option on the website and trust me, lots of interesting course are available! (even courses that I didn’t know ever exist!) But, I’m devastated too read the amount of fees that I should pay if I want to further my study. It is between, £6000 to £12000 not including accommodation and foods. That is a lot!!! My parents never will afford that much! In Malaysia, you can buy a house with that much of money.

So, the only option left is try to get a scholarship. Luckily my friend Helmi has the same struck and together we will try seeking for scholar (at least I’m not alone here!). But in the meantime, if I failed to continue my study in London, maybe I should find a job or continue my study in UiTM(huhuhu…).

Aduh! it's been a VERRRRRRRRRRRy long time i tak update my blog! i miss it so much! masa dan keadaan mmg tak membenarkan aku online sbb keadaan aku yang terlampau busy. Currently I'm working at my dad's shop. Di waktu yang sama menyiapkan projek filem "Epidemik Cinta Kuala Lumpur" (nanti i cerita about it in next2 post!), dan juga menyiapkan novel bertajuk "superstar" yang asyik tergendala.

Dalam kesibukkan yang melanda, aku sempat juga menghabiskan novel by Emily Giffin, "Something Blue". I just fall in love with the covers! tapi bukan yang macam kat atas ni sbb cover yang aku beli aku tak jumpa on the net! Ini merupakan buku kedua daripada Giffin. Novel pertamanya berjudul "Something Borrowed". tapi aku tak sempat nak baca buku tu lagi sebab baru je jumpa.

Kelakar juga dengan sikap Darcy yang sangat entah apa-apa dan selfish gila babi! tapi bila direnung balik, aku ada banyak sikap Darcy. Dalam cerita ni, u will fall in love and hate Darcy almost at the same time. Memang kalau baca mula2, u will hate rachael sbb die sanggup ambil tunang Darcy, Dex selepas (atau sebelum) mereka berdua break-up.

Tapi at the same time anda akan kesian dengan Dex sbb Darcy pun curang. The most interesting fact about this novel is you will hate and love the characters at the same time, most of the time. walaupun ending cerita ini agak boleh diteka, tapi mmg best!! rugi sape tak baca...! i salute U Emily!!!

Next I would like te read "something Borrowed" and "baby proof" both by emliy giffin. I just add her as one of my favourite author besides Jane green, Cecilia Ahern and Tony Parson.

engkau laksana bulan....

Huish! Lama gila tak update blog ni. I'm busy completing my thesis. Now, it's over! I'm quite confident to get a 4.00 GPA for this semester result. Plus, this semester is not so ‘that’ hard... hahaha berlagaknya!

I think it's not so late to wish Happy Mubarak Eid to all my readers (as if kalau ada!). My raya was 'biasa2 aja!'. Extra special sebab tahun ni jatuh pada my birthday so maybe best skit dari tahun2 lepas. Yang tak bestnya bila memikirkan yang mungkin tahun ni ialah tahun terakhir I will get duit raya. Yelah, I'll finish my degree by May next year, so maybe dah tak dapat lagilah ang-pow next year. sob...sob...

Last friday, I went to watch P.Ramlee The Musical. Susah nk gambarkan musical ni dalam satu perkataan je sebab memang best sgt! Congrats to the team yg diketuai Mr Zahim n Mr Adlin. Tak lupa juga buat Datin Tiara. Can't wait for the next one to come! Good Job Guys!!!!

My achu said, dia rasa Liza Hanim mmg hebat. walaupun berkongsi stage dgn Siti, Tapi mmg Liza lebih menonjol. Tak dinafikan mmg bakat lakonan Liza hebat. Tapi, kita kena ingat yg dia membawa watak Saloma. jadi karakternya sendiri sudah besar. seharusnya dia lebih hebat dari Azizah lakonan Siti. Tapi waktu siti menyanyi, i got goose bump!! She never fails to do that to me! suara Siti mmg tiada tandingan.

Atilia sebagai Junaidah mmg perfect sekali. Suara Atilia tak payah nk pertikai lagi. Bakat lakonan mmg boleh dipuji sbg first timer. Tapi saya paling kagum dgn lakonan Melissa Saila sebagai Norizan. dia nampak cantik persis Marilyn Monroe. Walaupun nyanyiannya kadang2 off...tapi itu semua tidak dihiraukan kerana setiap baris yang terucap dari mulutnya tidak kira kata atau nyanyian mmg dapat dirasai.

Last, Sean Ghazi as P.Ramlee- I just wanna say, "I salute U!". I never like this guy. But, He as PRamlee is SUPERB! Cuma dia menyanyi sebagi Sean dan bukan Pramlee. Lagi satu, kadang2 dia Nampak tenggelam bila berlakon disamping Melissa Saila, Siti, Liza Hanim dan atilia. Nyata aura wanita2 ini lebih besar.

Scene yg paling disukai ialah waktu shooting antara Saloma dan Pramlee. Memang kelakar! Lagi sekali I will like to congrats all team crew of PRTM! Superb n amazing!

p/s: yg list pasal benda yg tak best internship kat rtm tu rasenya tak payah post la....huhuhu. tak baik burukkan org yang dah berjasa...hahaha

Thanks GOD! It’s finally over! My 4 month internship period at Unit Drama TV RTM has finally come to its end! Yeah!

A friend asked me, “ Apa benda yang paling best sepanjang kau buat internship kat RTM?” and I’m like terdiam kejap. Bukan sebab takde lansung kenangan manis, tapi semuanya bukanlah seperti yang aku bayangkan. So, I said to my friend, “Thank you for asking that very good question. But, you have to read my blog soon for the answer.” Sebenarnya, bukan nak promote blog ni kat kawan yang tak pernah singgah, tapi the truth is, I need some times to answer the question with the most correct answer. So, I came out with this list.

YANG BEST!

• -1st, best sangat sebab dapat kerja kat tempat di mana my favourite lecturer (Puan Lola) pernah kerja. (Unit Drama TV RTM)
• -Dapat banyak kakak dan mak angkat yang baik hati, ramah dan pemurah. (No Kidding!)
• -Dapat melancong ke Yan, Kedah yang best sebab banyak air terjun dan sawah padi. Sebelum ni, tak pernah sampai kat tempat tu, so, it’s interesting!
• -Dapat kenal dengan dua mamat yang cool dan boleh dibuat kawan baik. Pat (atau nama sebenarnya Shafiq. Ceh! “Pat” la konon!) and Hadi. Rasanya ni yang paling best kot. I just love the fact dapat kenal dengan budak 2 ekor ni.
• -tak penat sangat dan boleh pergi shopping or tengok wayang hari-hari!
• -Keje office hour je! (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri) hahaha! Memang kewl!
• -Hari-hari balik awal! (Of coz lah tanpa pengetahuan mereka)
• -Free internet everyday! (Walaupun kena queue, tapi takpe!)

The cleansing month

Yey! Ramadan is back! It is the month for Muslims to purify and cleanse their soul and stomach. Hahaha! I always love Ramadan because I enjoy fasting so much. People that didn’t fast will never know the joy of fasting. The satisfaction of puasa is superb!

Other than that, I just love this month because of ‘Pasar Ramadan!’ In Pasar Ramadan, you can cuci mata and buy all the kuih-muih that you may only find in Ramadan. My favourite kuih will be all type of bingka, kuih talam and of coz, everyone Ramadan’s favourite – kuih pelita.

My friends hate to go to Pasar Ramadan with me! They said, i shop at Pasar Ramadan like tomorrow will a war. Hahaha! Maybe the nafsu makan have blown my mind! I can’t help it!

This year ramadan is particular special to me because it is like a countdown to my birthday. Yep people! My birthday is on 13^th October. That is the date of this year raya (hopefully!). i’m so happy! Imagine all the muslim in the world will celebrate my birthday! Hahaha!

Oklah, Happy Ramadan semua! Jangan ponteng puasa!

Favourite makan spots

Mc D! i’m lovin’ it! It’s my favourite fast food! For Indian, I like Devi’s Corner at Bangsar. They serve the best paper thosai ever! I also love Pandi’s (PJ) nasi daun pisang. The best Tomyam would be at RAKthai restaurant at AmcorpMall. Don’t forget to order the ‘sotong butter’. It’s SUPERB! My favourite cafe will be Starbucks. I love the Green Tea Frappucino! Laksa Shack serves varieties of Laksa, and for a Laksa freak like me its heaven! Asam Laksa at a small restaurant at Ampang Point also is good! The best Nasi Ayam is at Chee Meng!

Favourite places to shop

Sungei Wang! I can spend the whole day there! (Done that with my buddy Pijan. 10am- 10pm!) But you also can spot me at MidValley because I go there at least once a week. I watch movies at GSC MidValley because it’s near my house. MidValley’s MPH bookstore is my favourite place to buy books and magazines. Radioactive is my favourite labels and I’m always at the store! If I want to cuci mata, I’ll go to IKEA!!!

Let’s go out!

I will only go out with my friends to the shopping malls, or any interesting events such as concert, art exhibition, movies screening or play. Other than that, I like to lepak at Mamak. I don’t do clubbing. It’s not for me anymore. Huhu...

Favourite local performer

It would be Dayang Nurfaizah! Whenever I went to see her performing, she totally will blew me away. I’m never bored with Dayang! She’s entertaining. I also love Atilia. She’s the next Sheila Majid. Ok, I admit, I love Siti too!

Pastime

Watching TV at home! Heaven! If it is raining, SLEEP!

Most attractive neighbourhood to live in?

Damansara Perdana. Its convenience (With all the highways, it is near to everything). The place is still calm and not too overrated. Plus, it’s near to Mutiara Damansara.

What part of Klang Valley holds the fondest memories for you? Why?

Bangsar. I grew up there. I still remember going to TMC with my Atuk & Nenek, buy toys at Hankyu Jaya, eating ice-cream at McD, hang out at my friend’s house after school (or during school-when ponteng sekolah...huhuhu!) and fall in love for the first time.

Why do you think there are so many shopping complexes here?

I don’t think we have too many malls if compared to Singapore or Bangkok. Anyway, if we have too few it would be too congested especially on weekends. And people like me that love shopping so much will have a nervous breakdown!

How would you describe KL-ites?

They’re so rojak! KL-ites are various. Kids in Pantai Dalam are not the same with the kids at Bukit Damansara. The rojak thing makes us so unique! The most things I don’t like about KL-ites are they like to litter everywhere they like. Well people, use the tong sampah lah!

If you were the mayor of Klang Valley, the first thing you’d do is....

Find ways to solve the flood problems. Tolonglah, we said our negara is so meningkat maju, but when just little rain comes, the banjir will come too! Hello!? It is a visit Malaysia year! Tourists come here for the sunshine, humid and rain. Not wet socks!

What makes Klang Valley so Klang Valley?

It is so rojak in every sense of the word. The peoples, foods and cultures. Everything is just a mix of everything! I love KL!

a wedding and a question

Last Saturday is my favourite aunt wedding. I call her Achu and she’s always like a big sister to me. We shared the same interest especially our interest in Indonesian’s music, blogs, movie, play and art. Seeing one of my special ‘friend’ get married make my heart pounding so hard. It’s a mix of feeling of joy and sadness. I’m happy for her. She got married to a very good guy. My ‘Chumal’ (Achu’s hubby) is a very simple, calm, down to earth, humble, and a kind man. He is so right for her. But, at the same time I am sad because this maybe a sign that I will lost another friend.

But, maybe not!

At the wedding, a friend asked me “do you have a girlfriend now?” and I’m just stumped! I just answered it with a very hypocrite answer. I said, “I’m single but not available because I’m not searching at this moment. Being single for a while is fun!” That answer is truly a lie! ‘Not searching!?’ duh! Deep in my heart I know I want a girl to fill the emptiness inside it. Yes, I’m coward to admit that I really need love right now!

After a year being single, sometime it is hard for me to forget all the pain that I suffered from the previous relationship. The break up really tears me apart and for this moment in terms of love life, I’m just not being myself. I’m a total dishonest.

Yes, I’m confessed! I can’t get rid of her from my mind. I don’t mean the girl from my last relationship but it is the girl that I always admire and fall in love for the past 4 years. OMG! It’s been 4 years now! But I’m still in love with her! Why? Why just this feeling can’t fly away? Maybe before I met ‘the girl’, I never fall in love. Yes, I have a girlfriend before I met her but I never really fall in love with her. That is one of the reasons why I made the decision to take the separate ways with my first girlfriend. We are in love but I do not love her. It may sound complicated, but what the hell, love is complicated!

My love life is always been a secret to my friends. I never shared it with my friend or anything. The reason why I post it here is because I know they are too lazy to read my blog. So, padan muka! You guys missed my confession! Hahaha!

For this moment, I’m not going to search for love. I hope it will come to me like it always does. So, to all the girls out here, if you like me, just tell me! I may sound cheap but we never know what it’s really worth until will get it aite?!

a great singer and a stupid manager

Last Friday, I went to see Atilia singing at a Restaurant. (Yes, I’m not gonna promote that restaurant!) Atilia was great with a capital G! GREAT! What more can I say? She’s truly a great singer and performer. Betullah kata pepatah melayu, kemana tumpahnya kuah jika tak ke nasi! Salamiah Hassan (Atilia’s mother and also a great singer of hits ‘Menghitung Hari’) would be so proud!

Oh, about why I’m not gonna mention the restaurant name? it is because of the stupid manager. First, because my name was not in the reservation list walaupun 2 kali I called to make the reservation and CONFIRMED it! I said I want a table nearest to the stage to watch Atilia, malangnya she said name was not on the list. For your information, this is not the first time this happened to me at that restaurant. It’s my 3^rd time! Duh! Tapi itu bukan lah perkara yang paling buat I bengang. Bila dah takde seat, terpaksalah I berdiri near the bar. Sebab takde table, malaslah nak order apa-apa. Susah la, dengan nak pegang bag lagi, dengan orang yang lalu lalang lagi. So, this stupid manager datang dan tanya I nak order apa-apa tak? I just said I don’t want to order anything kalau I tak dapat table. Nak tahu apa dia jawab yang buat I geram?

She said, I quote….

“If you not going to order anything, you can stand outside XXXXXX and listen to Atilia. We have a very good sound system and you can still clearly listen to Atilia from outside. This area is strictly for XXXXXX’s customer only.”

Bodoh kan? Kurang ajar! I pun marah la manager perempuan berambut panjang yang bodoh tu! Sampai dia terdiam and at last, I got my table! (Duh!) tapi masa tu, my moodmeter was at zero! Tapi sebab nak tengok Atilia, I stay juga.

Ok, cukuplah pasal that stupid manager. Lets continue with Atilia. I would like to apologize to Atilia sebab sebelum ni, I have said yang dia bukan penyanyi high-note. The truth is, she is! Yes!

Secara keseluruhan, persembahan Atilia sangat menghiburkan. Yang paling best, she’s sing all my favorite song! Sempurna, Duyung, Sudah, Selagi, selalu denganmu dan of coz, Salah Sangka! Bila salamiah hassan menyanyi bersama Atilia, my heart was pounding like crazy sebab diorang nyanyi my ultimate favorite song, ‘For once in my life’ by Stevie Wonder. It was Superb! The French will say C’est Magnifique!

Jadi, walaupun dengan rasa bengang yang teramat sangat, I pulang dengan perasaan yang sangat gembira. Atilia is a very good singer dan tak lupa, dia peramah! (Bonus Marks!)

When I was a little boy, I always wanted a camera. I wanted my ‘own’ camera. One day, I told my ayah about my desire to own a camera. He then told me that we are so poor so that we can’t afford to have camera. But I asked him back, “why we need two televisions then, if we are so poor?” but his answers then never satisfied me.

That was it. At that moment, I am disappointed. But, what can I do to change my ayah principle? Nothing much and till now, it never happened and never seems to happen. I have to come to a stage that I almost forget about the passion that I had in photography.

On one sunny day while walking in the park looking at people taking wedding pictures, I remember, as a little boy I always admire to look at advertising and fashion strips in magazines. But I always realized it’s not the model or the fashion that I admire. It’s the work behind all of it. Fashion’s photography is the answer. It is my passion.

Now, after realizing my true passion in photography (and watch several seasons of America’s Next Top Model), I manage to pulled back all the passion in my heart. Whenever I have free time, I always looked for fashion’s photography pictures either on the net or magazines. I also bought some expensive magazines just to have the pictures in it. Magazines like America, Glam, Elle Magazine, Vogue, Mademoiselle and Vanity Fair is the best reference for me to learn more about fashion photography’s techniques. Like the old saying said, if you want the best, learn it from the best.

The website that I always refers to if looking for inspiration in fashion photography is www.deviantart.com (under the keyword fashion photography or fashion portraits). In this website, we can view all the artwork and photos from photographers all over the world either they are amateurs or experts. On this site also we can ask opinion or advise regarding photography from the experts. Besides, we can load our artwork and ask comment from others. Other website that is interesting to explore is www.fotopages.com where we can look at lots of good and interesting pictures.

International names like Gil Ben Simone and Nigel Barker is my idols in fashion photography. Gil Ben Simone is French’s man who discovered Twiggy, the 1^st fashion icon. Besides Twiggy, he also has shot lots of big name such as in the millennium, name like Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Kate Moss. Simone, have shot for many magazines and his work always become a hits in the fashion industry. Commercials like Covergirl, Lancome, Christian Dior and Versace have all succeed through Simone’s lenses. He also is so great until he become the prizes for the winner of America’s Next Top Model (ANTM). Every winners of ANTM will get a chance to be shot by Simone that will be a spread in Elle Magazine. This already shows Simone credibility in Fashion’s Photography. While Nigel Barker, besides being one of the judge for ANTM, he actually is a prominent and professional photographer that have shots for many advertising and fashion strips.

Before studying in the Photo Communication subject, I never take a picture using the manual mode. ‘Automatic’ at that time is my best friend. The only thing that I always concerns is the angle and placing in taking pictures. But as I go trough this subject, I found that photography is not just all that. Besides giving messages and tell stories, composition, depth of field and exposure also are very essentials in photography. The combinations of the techniques will pull out the best from the subject that we captured.

One day, I hope that this hidden talent that I have would make senses. I also sometimes have think that maybe photography can be an option of career. Sometime, I gain experience by takings pictures at relatives and friend’s wedding.
